On November 16 the Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs Koryun Nahapetyan visited Yerevan N 190 and N 195 Senior Schools to get acquainted with the works on military-patriotic upbringing and teaching “Initial Military Training (IMT)” subject.

The Committee Chairman met with the pupils, presented the composition, spheres of activities of the Committee, touched upon the key role in pre-conscription training and the IMT subject at schools, talked about the importance of the military-patriotic upbringing and service in the army.

At the end of the meeting the pupils had an opportunity to address questions to Koryun Nahapetyan. They were particularly interested in the steps taken in the military service, aimed at the prevention of accidents in the armed forces, the border incidents, the main threats to the national security of the Republic of Armenia, as well as the issues regarding women's and girls’ military service.

Highlighting similar contacts, the Committee Chairman wished them successes in the education.

Koryun Nahapetyan together with school principals, the senior military heads of the given territories and the military heads of the schools took a tour in schools, got familiarized with the logistics of pre-conscription trainings, got interested in the peculiarities of the organization of the educational process, discussed a number of problems on the organization of the subject teaching, the military-patriotic upbringing of the youth, practical courses, and the cooperation with the military commissariats and military units.

At the end of the tour Koryun Nahapetyan assured that the Committee will continue the cooperation with the heads of the senior schools and their military heads on pre-conscription trainings and military-patriotic upbringing.
