Meeting in the Parliament

On September 24 the Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Health Care, Maternity and Childhood Ara Babloyan and the Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs met with the Delegation led by the Deputy Speaker of Mejlis of Turkmenistan Ms Gurbanguly Bayramova.

Welcoming the guests, the Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Health Care, Maternity and Childhood Ara Babloyan highly assessed the friendship between the peoples of the two countries.

Ara Babloyan highlighted the programmes being implemented in Turkmenistan in the sphere of healthcare, especially in the sphere of public healthcare, in combating smoking, preservation of mother’s and child’s health, prevention of cardiovascular and diabetic diseases.

The Committee Chairman has informed that the package of the draft laws “On Human Reproductive Health and Reproductive Rights” and “On Amending the RA Law on Administrative Infringements” is under the debates in the Committee. He has noted that they try to prevent by law the interruptions of pregnancy conditioned by gender.

Ms Gurbanguly Bayramova thanked them for the warm reception and has stated that the multilateral relations between the two countries develop dynamically and mutually beneficially. She has noticed that similar meetings give an opportunity to further deepen the relations, listen to each other’s opinions and exchange experience.

Ms Gurbanguly Bayramova presented in detail the health programmes which the authorities of Turkmenistan implement.

At the meeting the interlocutors expressed readiness to further deepen the relations in the sphere of healthcare.
