On July 17 the RA NA Speaker Galust Sahakyan received the parliamentary delegation of the Republic of Korea led by Noh Young-min.

Welcoming the guests in the National Assembly Galust Sahakyan highlighted the development of the Armenian-Korean relations, especially stressing the deepening of parliamentary ties of the two countries. The NA Speaker thanked the Republic of Korea for supporting the technical re-equipment of the NA Plenary Session Hall in 2011.

Galust Sahakyan highly assessed the balanced approach of Korea over the issues of high importance for Armenia. The NA Speaker has noted that he is aware of pro-Armenian activities by Noh Young-min, the Head of Korea-Armenia Friendship Group of the Parliament of the Republic of Korea.

Galust Sahakyan has also talked about the initiative “The Parliamentarians against Genocide” called into life by the National Assembly, by which it is called on to the parliaments of the world to condemn the genocides in the whole world.

Thanking for the reception Noh Young-min has noted that before visiting the parliament the delegation led him went to the Armenian Genocide Memorial Complex, got acquainted with the exhibits in the Museum-Institute and felt big pain seeing the evidence of the Armenian people’s tragedy. The Head of Korea-Armenia Friendship Group has noted that Korea and Armenia are companions of fortune in that aspect.

The Head of Korea-Armenia Friendship Group presented to the Speaker of the National Assembly the book “Modern Tragedies” authored by him, the first chapter of which is dedicated to the Armenian Genocide.

At the end of the meeting Galust Sahakyan awarded Noh Young-min the Medal of Honour of the National Assembly for strengthening the Armenian-Korean friendship relations.
