On June 26 the RA NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov received the newly elected Deputy Speaker of the NKR National Assembly Vahram Balayan. The Representative of the NKR National Assembly Karen Topchyan attended the meeting.

The RA NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov congratulated Vahram Balayan on the occasion of being elected NA Deputy Speaker and wished him effective work. The interlocutors discussed the relations of the two countries, particularly, issues regarding the inter-parliamentary ties. Both sides highlighted the activities of the Parliamentary Friendship Groups for developing and making closer the inter-parliamentary relations.

Touching upon the regional security issues, Eduard Sharmazanov has reaffirmed that the settlement of the NK problem Armenia sees through peaceful negotiations, He highlighted the participation of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic in the negotiating process. Eduard Sharmazanov has also added that the right of the Karabakh people’s self-determination has no alternative.

The NKR NA Deputy Speaker Vahram Balayan thanked his colleague for the reception and emphasized the role of the Republic of Armenia in the peaceful settlement process of the NK problem.
