Galust Sahakyan Receives the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic

On June 25 the RA NA President received the delegation led by Lubomír Zaorálek, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic.

Welcoming Mr Zaorálek in the National Assembly, Galust Sahakyan expressed hope that the opening of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Armenia would have a positive influence on the provision of continuity of political dialogue, trade-economic cooperation and activation of human contacts.

Galust Sahakyan has noted that Armenia is concerned about developing comprehensive cooperation, and the opening of the RA Embassy in Prague is its best evidence. The Head of the Parliament, highlighting the role of the Parliamentary Friendship Groups in the development of bilateral ties, has added that the inter-parliamentary relations are at high level. In Galust Sahakyan’s word, Armenia continues remaining committed to the European values and principles and is resolute with the European counterparts in expanding and deepening the process of the institutional reforms aimed at continuous strengthening of democracy, human rights and the rule of law.

Thanking for reception the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Lubomír Zaorálek highlighted the role of parliamentary diplomacy in the development and strengthening of relations of the friendly countries. In terms of bilateral cooperation the Minister emphasized particularly the expansion of the ties in the economic sphere. Speaking about the RA-EU relations Lubomír Zaorálek has noted that the Czech Republic is ready to promote the development and deepening of the further cooperation of both sides within limits if possibilities.

In the course of the meeting the sides also touched upon the events dedicated to the Armenian Genocide Centennial, the events occurred in Ukraine, the process of constitutional amendments and other issues of bilateral interest.
