On June 11 in the RA National Assembly will begin the event “Civil Society Day in the RA National Assembly” (CS Day in the NA). The event is held for the second time at the RA NA initiative and by the USAID Support to the Armenian National Assembly Program (SANAP). The goal of the event is to promote the effective and mutually beneficial dialogue between the deputies, the NA Committees, the NA Staff and the civil society. The RA NA Speaker, representatives of the RA NA Committees, the RA NA Staff, local NGOs and international organizations will take part in the event.

During the event discussions will be held in the RA NA Standing Committees. In the course of the discussions with the representatives of different Committees the representatives of the civil society will have opportunity to discuss pressing problems revealed and raised by them for finding possible legislative solutions jointly with the deputies. In parallel with the discussions in the foyer adjacent to the RA NA Session Hall information materials on programs implemented during the last by the civil society organizations, researches, analyses and other publications corresponding with the spheres of the activity of the 12 RA NA Standing Committees provided by the NGOs will be shown.

This initiative is implemented for the second time in the RA NA having tendency to become a new formed culture in the NA works. The organization of the event was implemented by the especially created working group, where representatives of the RA NA Staff, civil society and SANAP are involved. The event is one more opportunity to create relations with the civil society for the representatives of the RA NA Committees and the RA NA Staff, to find effective dialogue and legislative joint solutions on the most important problems, and to form a stable framework for the further coordinated partnership.
