On June 8 the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs moderated by Hovhannes Sahakyan held the next sitting. The Committee in the second reading debated the legislative initiative “On Amending the RA Law on Referendum.”
The key speaker and the draft law co-author Artsvik Minasyan noted that almost all the recommendations submitted by the NA Factions and individual deputies were accepted, and no article was added within the framework of the second reading.
The draft law with the Committee endorsement will be included in the draft agendas of the NA four-day sittings.
On the same day the next sitting of the NA Standing Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs was held, and the first part was behind closed doors. The deputies summed up the debates of the annual report “On the RA State Budget Execution for 2014.” At the second part of the sitting the deputies debated the draft law “On Approving Military Internal Service Regulations” in the second reading.
The Committee submitted endorsement on the debated issue for including it in the draft agenda of June 8-11 four-day sittings.
The RA Deputy Minister of Defense Ara Nazaryan in the second reading presented the package of the draft laws “On the Status of the Military Units and Institutions” and “On Amending the RA Law on Education.”
The Committee endorsed the draft laws to include them in the draft agenda of the upcoming four-day sittings. The Committee Chairman Koryun Nahapetyan proposed to organize the third reading of the legislative package during 24 hours after passing it in the second reading. The Committee made a decision to organize parliamentary hearings on “Human Rights and the Police” jointly with the NA Standing Committee on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs on June 26.
