Parliamentary Hearings on the Theme “The Perspectives of the Development of Innovative Technologies in the RA Armed Forces”

On May 13 the RA NA Standing Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs moderated by Koryun Nahapetyan organized parliamentary hearings on the theme “The Perspectives of the Development of Innovative Technologies in the RA Armed Forces.”

The NA deputies, representatives of the state institutions and the NGOs took part in the hearings.

Highlighting the theme of the hearings Koryun Nahapetyan has distinguished a number of circumstances. According to the Committee Chairman’s observation, there are a series of problems, which refer to, in particular, the establishment of the private sector, the boosting of the higher competition, providing of social-economic and more flexible tax policy, the improvement of the purchase process, the complete development, use and boosting of research and scientific-technical potential, the implementation of necessary events in the human resources policy. To Koryun Nahapetyan’s conviction, the implementation of the events will result in the growth of innovation in the economy, consequently, the military industry.

The RA Deputy Minister of Defence Alik Mirzabekyan, the General Director of the LT-PYRKAL CJSC Laser Technologies Centre Gagik Buniatyan, the Director of the Union of the Information Technology Enterprises (UITE) Karen Vardanyan, and the Chairman of the Trustees’ Board of Zorakn Scientific-Educational Youth Foundation Karen Vrtanesyan talked about the creation of the military industry, the problems of its development and other issues concerning the theme.

Summing up the parliamentary hearings, the Committee Chairman Koryun Nahapetyan has noted that this platform gives opportunity to raise the problems existing in the military-industrial sphere. He has underscored that sufficient legal bases are created for the innovative development of the military-industrial sphere. Mr Nahapetyan once again has emphasized the law regulating the sphere, noting that the goals, principles and problems of the military-industrial policy, as well as the rights of the military-industrial policy entities, and relevant structures will also be formed on the basis of this law.
