On May 9 on Victory and Peace Day the RA NA President Galust Sahakyan, the NA Vice Presidents Eduard Sharmazanov, Hermine Naghdalyan, the NA deputies, a number of high ranking officials, the leaders of the Chief Headquarters of the Armed Forces, the commanders of the RF Armed Forces deployed in Armenia and the foreign Ambassadors accredited in our country visited "Haghtanak" (Victory) Park. The Head of the Parliament laid a wreath and flowers at the memorial stone of the Unknown Soldier. The city was in a festive mood, and the symbolic event began with a military parade, and the Armenian air force demonstrated a show in the sky. In the interview given to the media the NA President talked with special pride about the victory in the Great Patriotic War and the Armenians’ contribution to them. Touching upon the liberation of Shushi, Galust Sahakyan has underlined that that page is the most important victory of the Armenian people’s modern history. In the military tent canteen the Head of the Parliament also dined with the veterans of the Great Patriotic and Artsakh War.
