At the Four-day Sittings of the National Assembly

On April 29 the parliament continued the work of the four-day sittings, passing in the second reading the bill package “On Amending the Organization of Funerals and Operation of Cemeteries and Crematoriums” and package of bills.

The deputies welcomed the pupils and the pedagogues of the Basic Schools of Saradarapat, Shenik and Argina communities of Armavir Marz who visited the National Assembly within the framework of the NA “Open Doors” programme.

Afterwards, the deputies Heghine Bisharyan and Hovhannes Margaryan continued to express viewpoints on the bills “On Amending the RA Law on Medical Aid and Service of the Population.”

In their final speeches the RA Minister of Healthcare Armen Muradyan and the key speaker Ara Babloyan touched upon the deputies’ interpellations and gave clarifications.

The parliament in the second reading debated the bills “On the RA draft law “On Citizens Who Failed to Complete Compulsory Military Service through Violation of the Established Procedure,” “On Human Reproduction Health and Reproduction Rights,” “On Amending the RA Law on Medical Aid and Service of the Population.”

The RA Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Areg Galstyan presented the agreement “On Cooperation in Extending the Operation Term of the 2nd block of the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Government of the Russian Federation signed in Moscow on 20 December 2014.

Khosrov Harutyunyan presented the endorsement of the NA Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs and the member of the NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Shirak Torosyan presented the endorsement of the Committee.

The deputies addressed numerous questions to the key and co-speakers of the agreement, which related to the problems of the nuclear energy sphere, the credit obligations, energy cost, the efficiency of the use of the credit resources, etc.

The debate of the issue was interrupted at the phase of the exchange of thoughts: at the April 30 the deputies will submit their viewpoints.

At the last sitting, according to the established order of the NA Rules of Procedure, the members of the RA Government answered the deputies’ questions.
