On April 14-16 the sittings of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly (PA) Council, Permanent Commissions on Political Issues and International Cooperation, on Social Policy and Human Rights, on Economy and Finance, on Legal Issues, on Defense and Security Issues, as well as the Expertise-Advisory Centre adjunct to the CSTO PA Council.

The RA NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov, deputies Khosrov Harutyunyan, Koryun Nahapetyan, Hovhannes Sahakyan, and the NA Permanent Representative to the IPA CIS Hayk Chilinigaryan took part in the sittings.

On April 14 the sitting of the Expertise-Advisory Centre adjunct to the CSTO PA Council was held, where the deputy of the RA National Assembly, the Chairman of the Permanent Commission on Political Issues and International Cooperation Khosrov Harutyunyan took part. During the sittings of the Centre the issue of the rapprochement and harmonization of the national legislations of the CSTO member countries: the CSTO PA of the activity programme for 2016-2020, as well as other model draft laws were discussed. About twelve draft laws were discussed and included in the agenda of the CSTO PA Commissions.

On the next day, on April 15, the sittings of the Permanent Commissions on Political Issues and International Cooperation, on Social Policy and Human Rights, on Legal Issues, on Defense and Security Issues were held.

The Chairman of the CSTO PA Permanent Commission on Political Issues and International Cooperation Khosrov Harutyunyan moderated the sitting of the Commission. Numerous issues were included in the agenda of the sitting: decisions were made. Khosrov Harutyunyan made a report with recommendations on holding an international scientific-practical conference “The Perspective Directions of the Inter-parliamentary Cooperation Aimed at Strengthening of the Collective and International Security in the CSTO Format.”

On the same day a series of documents were debated at the CSTO PA Permanent Commission on Defense and Security Issues. The Chairman of the RA NA Standing Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs Koryun Nahapetyan gave a speech “The Results of the Conference Regulating the Chairs of the Committees on Defense and Security of the CSTO Member States adjunct to the CSTO PA Council held in 2014.”

The Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs Hovhannes Sahakyan and the NA Permanent Representative to the IPA CIS Hayk Chilinigaryan took part in the sitting of the CSTO PA on Social Policy and Human Rights, on Economy and Finance and on Legal Issues.

On April 16 the session of the CSTO PA Council was held, where Eduard Sharmazanov, the Head of the RA NA Delegation, the RA NA Deputy Speaker, the NA deputies Koryun Nahapetyan and Khosrov Harutyunyan took part.

At the session many issues were debated: particularly the issue of the study of the military-political situation in the CSTO collective security regions and the general requirements of holding of parliamentary monitoring, the issue of the rapprochement and harmonization of the CSTO national legislations for 2016-2020, on which numerous recommendations submitted by the RA NA delegation.

At the session of the CSTO PA Council Eduard Sharmazanov, the Head of the RA NA Delegation to the CSTO PA, delivered a speech on the results of the OSCE PA Winter Meeting 2015.

On the same day the meeting of the heads of delegations of the CSTO member states and OSCE PA delegations was held, which moderated the Head of the RA National Assembly Delegation to the OSCE PA Artashes Geghamyan.

On the next day, on April 17, the delegation of the RA National Assembly took part in the IPA CIS solemn plenary session dedicated to the 70^th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. At the session Eduard Sharmazanov, the Head of the RA NA Delegation, the RA NA Deputy Speaker delivered a speech.
