On April 16 in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO PA) the delegation led by the Head of the RA NA delegation, the Deputy Speaker of the RA National Assembly Eduard Sharmazanov took part in the sitting of the CSTO PA Council in Saint Petersburg. The members of the RA NA delegation to the CSTO PA Khosrov Harutyunyan and Koryun Nahapetyan attended the sitting. The CSTO PA Chairman, the Speaker of the RF State Duma Sergey Narishkin moderated the sitting.

The NA Deputy Speaker delivered a speech at the sitting of the CSTO PA Council, where he noted in particular: “It is characteristic that the CSTO will affirm the necessity of the exclusively peaceful settlement of the regional conflicts. I think that it is symbolic that ahead of the Armenian Genocide Centennial and the 70^th anniversary of Victory in the World War II at the international parliamentary assemblies the CSTO PA unites its efforts in the struggle against terrorism, fascism and xenophobia, preventing the repetition of such phenomena in the future. We expect that in the parliamentary assemblies the delegations of the CSTO member countries will have a balanced position over this issue and will fulfill their allied obligations.”
