Opening Ceremony of the Monument and Tree-Planting Are Held in the National Assembly
1 / 13

On April 9 in the National Assembly the opening ceremony of the monument dedicated to the Armenian Genocide Centennial was held, where the RA NA President Galust Sahakyan, the NA Vice President Eduard Sharmazanov, the NA deputies and the representatives took part.

In his remarks the RA NA President Galust Sahakyan has noted that the birth of the opening of the monument-drinking fountain on the occasion of the Armenian Genocide Centennial is the unique generalization of the most tragic page of our history.

In the NA President’s word, the Armenian Genocide Centennial is a certain border between a crime and humanity, past and the future, history and memory.

Galust Sahakyan has documented that the monument located in the yard of the National Assembly is a message directed to future, the message of the people who have survived the genocide and have not lost the optimism.

After the opening of the monument, the President of the National Assembly and the deputies have planted 100 symbolic trees in the park of the parliament as a memory of the genocide innocent victims.

Talking about the symbolic hundred trees being planted in the park of the National Assembly, the President of the National Assembly considered those trees a firm evidence of remaining adherent to continuous tradition of building victories.
