On April 3 the RA NA Standing Committees convened sittings.

The NA Standing Committee on Territorial Management and Local Self-Government moderated by Stepan Margaryan at the next sitting in the second reading debated and endorsed the legislative package “On Amending the RA Law on Organization of Funerals and Operation of Cemeteries and Crematoriums” and envisaging amendments to a number of laws.

The NA Rule of Law Faction also submitted a legislative initiative on the private cemeteries.

The Committee also considered the issue and themes of organizing the parliamentary hearings.

At the sitting of the RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations three agreements, submitted by the RA Deputy Minister Armen Harutyunyan, the RA First Minister of Transport and Communication Artur Arakelyan and the RA Deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Kocharyan, were debated.

The debated agreements with the endorsement of the Committee will be submitted for the ratification of the parliament.

The NA deputy Zaruhi Postanjyan presented the RA NA draft statement “On the Adoption of the Pan-Armenian Declaration on the Armenian Genocide Centennial.” As a result of debate, by the deputies’ recommendation the author agreed to postpone the debate of the draft law up to one year, later submitting a revised draft law.
