On February 25 the National Assembly continued the work of the four-day sittings.

At the beginning of the sitting the deputies welcomed the students of the Leadership School who had visited the parliament within the framework of the “Open Doors” programme by the proposal of the NA Speaker Galust Sahakyan.

The deputies in one-minute silence honoured the memory of the deputy of the Supreme Council, freedom fighter, journalist and publicist Samvel Shahmuradyan.

Then the deputies by voting passed the NA draft decision “On the Special Order of the Debate of the Bill (on holding within 48 hours after passing the debate in the first reading by the second reading) on Amending the RA Law on Profit Tax.”

Then the parliament continued debating the action plan of the RA Public Services Regulatory Commission for 2015.

The RA NA deputies Aram Manukyan, Hrant Bagratyan and Hovhannes Margaryan in their speeches referred to the problems of the spheres of gas supply and energy, about which the key speaker Robert Nazaryan gave clarifications in his final speech.

Items debated in the second reading

The parliament debated for passing completely in the second reading the legislative package “On Amending the RA Law on Value Added Tax,” the package of bills “On Amending the RA Law on Local Self-Government in the City of Yerevan” and envisaging amendments to a number of laws conditioned by it.

The RA Deputy Minister of Finance Vakhtang Mirumyan submitted the bill “On Amending the RA Law on Profit Tax” for passing completely in the second reading.

Presenting the viewpoint of the ARF Faction Artsvik Minasyan noted that the Government had considerably made reforms in the bill from the first to the second reading.

The ARF representative submitted many recommendations and expressed his concerns on a series of items.

The debate of the issue will continue at February 26 NA sitting.

The last sitting, according to the established order of the NA Rules of Procedure, was allotted to the NA-Government Q & A session.
