On December 10 the RA NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov met with Tian Erlong, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Armenia.
The RA NA Deputy Speaker has congratulated Tian Erlong on beginning his diplomatic mission in Armenia and has expressed hope that the ambassador’s activity will be favourable for further deepening and advancing the Armenian-Chinese traditional cooperation. Mr Sharmazanov highlighted the rapprochement and development of interparliamentary ties, the parliamentary friendship groups’ activity. To his assessment, there is a great potential of cooperation in different spheres, which should be used effectively.
Eduard Sharmazanov, touching upon the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, has underscored that the RA authorities are adhered to the principle of solving problems through exclusively peaceful means and has assessed positively the balanced approach of the Chinese authorities to this issue.
Ambassador Tian Erlong, emphasizing that he is impressed by the high level of the Armenian-Chinese cooperation, has expressed willingness to take steps to ensure a new level of bilateral cooperation and further develop inter-state and inter-parliamentary ties. He has underscored that China sees the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict exclusively in a peaceful way, through Minsk Group format.
During the meeting the interlocutors touched upon also the perspectives of cooperation in economic, educational, cultural, humanities and other spheres. The parties spotlighted the exchange of experience and mutual visits between the friendly countries.
