On December 1 within the framework of the NA “Open Doors” programme the parliament hosted the lecturers and students of American University of Armenia (AUA). The guests took part in the NA four-day sittings, after which the RA NA Deputy Speaker Hermine Naghdalyan met with them. Welcoming the guests, Mrs Naghdalyan highlighted the activity of American University of Armenia and noted that she had taken part in the establishment of the University in Armenia. She expressed conviction that many of the young people present at the meeting would choose their political path in future, and in terms of it this visit would be a peculiar lesson for them. The NA Deputy Speaker presented the procedure of holding of the NA four-day sittings and the peculiarities of the legislative work. She highlighted the role and the participation of the youth in the process of having more powerful and established state.

The questions concerning the youth have been various. The NA Deputy Speaker answered to all interpellations and presented his observations. At the guests’ request Mrs Naghdalyan touched upon the events to be organized ahead of the 100^th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, the tax administration being carried out in our country after the EEU membership, the expecting economic reforms, the tense situation in the Karabakh-Azerbaijani line of contact and the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and other issues.

The guests thanked the NA Deputy Speaker for the warm reception and for thoroughly presenting his remarks on the raised problems.

At the end of the meeting the students had been taken photos with Hermine Naghdalyan in the NA Session Hall.
