On November 28 the RA NA Standing Committees on Territorial Management and Local Self-Government and on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs organized parliamentary hearings in the theme “On the Use of Public Services Code Number,” which moderated the Committee Chairs Stepan Margaryan and Elinar Vardanyan. Deputies, representatives of the RA relevant departments and experts took part in the hearings.
Opening the hearings, the Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs Elinar Vardanyan has said that it is designed to debate not only the legislative initiative of the RA Government “On Amending the RA Law on the Use of Public Services Code Number” but also the problems existing in the sphere.
The Chairman of the NA Standing Committees on Territorial Management and Local Self-Government Stepan Margaryan has noted that though the amendment to the bill has been endorsed in the Committee, nevertheless there are problems in the sphere which need debate and regulation.
The RA Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration Artashes Bakhshyan, the Head of the Control and Analytical Division of the Passport and Visa Department of the RA Police Mnatsakan Bichakhchyan, the RA First Deputy of the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Arayik Petrosyan, the Deputy Mayor of Yerevan Vahe Nikoyan, and the Head of Gandzak community of Gegharkunik Marz Vanik Harutyunyan delivered speeches on the use of the public services number code, its necessity and non-necessity.
In his concluding speech Stepan Margaryan thanked the participants for effective debate, noting that the remarks and recommendations voiced in the speeches and interpellations will be of positive importance for the establishment of the system.
