At November 10 press conference the Head of the RA NA Delegation to the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly (PA) of the Eastern Partnership Artak Zakaryan, members of the delegation Mher Shahgeldyan, Alexander Arzumanyan and Tevan Poghosyan touched upon the results of the works of the next meetings of the Euronest PA 4 Standing Committees held in Brussels on November 4-6.
The Head of the Delegation Artak Zakaryan has informed the attendees that at the meeting of the Committee on Political Affairs, Democracy and Human Rights in particular, reports on the instruments of the European Neighbourhood Policy for 2014-2020 and their use for the member states of the Eastern Partnership programme, at the meeting of the Committee on Economic Integration, Legal Approximation and Convergence with the EU Policies on the communication problems, at the meeting of the Standing Committee on Energy Security on possibilities of seeking innovating energy and alternative energy, at the meeting of the Committee on Social Affairs, Education, Science, Culture and Civil Society on problems concerning the cultural and inter-cultural dialogue were debated. The RA NA Delegation actively took part in the works of all committees.
Artak Zakaryan noticed that the delegation of Azerbaijan, taking into consideration Armenia’s accession to the Eurasian Economic Union, tried to create new obstacles for the Armenian Delegation to the Euronest PA. However, the Azerbaijanis did not succeed in that, as the members of the European Parliament urged the Azerbaijanis not overload the agenda of the Euronest with the items not related to the authorities of the structure.
The members of the RA NA Delegation Mher Shahgeldyan, Alexander Arzumanyan and Tevan Poghosyan talked about the observations and recommendations presented by the Armenian Delegation on the reports. In particular, during the report on the problems concerning the cultural and inter-cultural dialogue the Armenian side proposed to extend the field of the preservation of cultural values and talk about the provision of cultural heritage security, which received the delegates’ positive response.
The reports will be approved at the next meetings of the committees, which will be held in Armenia.
The members of the delegation also answered the journalists’ questions.
