On October 13 the RA National Assembly Vice President Eduard Sharmazanov being in Geneva on a working visit within the framework of the 131^st Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union met with Georgios Konstantopoulos, the member of the Hellenic Parliament, Head of the Greek Delegation to the Inter-Parliamentary Union.

Both parties have noted with satisfaction about the high level of the Armenian-Greek inter-parliamentary relations and highlighted the further deepening of cooperation of the parliamentary cooperation.

The NA Vice President has noticed that some Greek MPs’ behaviour causes perplexity in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), which to his characterization, try to cast shadow to the Armenian-Greek brotherly relations. Georgios Konstantopoulos in his turn has noted that he does not share those deputies’ opinion, highlighting the necessity of supporting each other in the Parliamentary Assemblies.

During the talk with Georgios Konstantopoulos the NA Vice President has noted that the year 2015 sees the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide. Touching upon the denial of the fact of the Genocide by Turkey Eduard Sharmazanov has stated that Turkey in this way documents that it is not ready to face the history.

At the meeting the NA Vice President has mentioned that an agreement has been reached with the President of the Hellenic Parliament to present a number of exhibits of the Armenian Genocide Museum in the Hellenic Parliament in 2015. He has expressed his gratitude for adopting the bill on criminalizing the denial of the Armenian Genocide by the Hellenic Parliament.
