On October 9 the Chairman of the RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Artak Zakaryan met with the delegation led by the member of the European Parliament, Head of the EU-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group Eleni Theocharous. The member of the RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Mher Shahgeldyan attended the meeting.

In the course of the meeting the interlocutors have talked about the relations between Armenia and the European Union, in particular, have discussed the perspectives of cooperation.

Artak Zakaryan and Eleni Theocharous have also spoken about the opportunities of deepening the working relations existing between the European Parliament and the RA NA. A series of priorities of further cooperation with the European structures have been noted.

Touching upon the Nagorno Karabakh problem, Artak Zakaryan has highly assessed Mrs Theocharous’ approach in the unreserved protection of the NK people’s vital rights to free and secure living.

The MEP Eleni Theocharous has expressed willingness to support the development and the dialogue of Armenia-European Union further cooperation.

In the course of the meeting the sides have discussed regional problems, also touched upon other issues of bilateral interest.
