On October 1 within the “Open Doors” programme the National Assembly hosted a group of students and lecturers from the faculties of Journalism of Yerevan State University (YSU). The students attended the NA four-day sittings, then the RA NA Speaker Galust Sahakyan received them.
Warmly welcoming the attendees the NA Speaker Galust Sahakyan congratulated the students, the professors and the graduates of the Faculty on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the Department of Journalism and the 15th anniversary of the Faculty of Journalism.
The Head of the parliament has noted he has graduated from Yerevan State University, too and during his educational years he has listened to the lectures concernig journalism. He has urged the future journalists to get knowledge and rightly use the “fruitful” pen on their chosen hard professional path. In the NA President’s word, the coming generation should bring news and freshness both in the press and in the society.
During the warm and sincere talk the NA President answered the students’ various questions, which related to the terms of being envolved in the Youth Parliament, the problems of covering the parliamentary work in the press and the air frequency of the “Parliamentary Week” programme.
The Dean of the Faculty of Journalism of Yerevan State University Naghash Martirosyan thanked the Head of the legislative body for the reception.
