On September 23 the Head of the Armenia-Iran Friendship Group Vahram Baghdasaryan met with Mohammad Reza Damavandi, Executive Director of the NGO Iran-Armenia Friendship Union and the persons accompanying him.
Thanking for the warm reception the Executive Director presented details about the activities, goals and programmes of the NGO. It was noted that the organization was founded seven years before, its goal is to strengthen and develop the existing political, cultural and economic relations between the two friendly peoples. It is designed to expand the mutual visits which will promote to more recognize the two peoples.
Welcoming and assessing the goals of the NGO mutually beneficial, the Head of the Armenia-Iran Friendship Group Vahram Baghdasaryan noted that though the Armenian-Iranian friendship comes from many centuries, there is a large Armenian community also in Iran, nevertheless there is a necessity of deepening and expanding the contacts and the cooperation in different spheres.
Considering the goals of the NGO far-reaching, Vahram Baghdasaryan expressed willingness to support the implementation of the programmes of the Iran-Armenia Friendship Union.
