On September 5 the Head of the RA NA Armenia-Iran Friendship Group Vahram Baghdasaryan met with Muhammad Reis, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the RA.
Welcoming the Ambassador in the parliament, the Head of the RA NA Armenia-Iran Friendship Group has noted that the Armenian-Iranian centuries-old friendship is based on historical-cultural commonalities. Mr Baghdasaryan expressed hope that due to the activities of the Friendship Groups the ties would become more strengthened. He highlighted the programmes related to the Meghri Hydro-electric station, Armenia-Iran Railway and the import of the energy carriers and the increase of goods turnover volumes between the two friendly countries.
Muhammad Reis, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the RA, congratulated Vahram Baghdasaryan for being appointed Head of the RA NA Armenia-Iran Friendship Group. He has noted that one of the priorities of the policy pursued by Iran is the development and deepening of the relations with the neighbouring countries.
To the Ambassador’s conviction, the Armenian-Iranian inter-parliamentary relations are at high level and will continue developing based on the friendship and historical-cultural commonalities of the two countries.
In the course of the meeting other issues of bilateral interest were also discussed.
