Welcoming the attendees the NA President has noted that such programmes gives an opportunity to our compatriots of Diaspora not only to see Armenia, study Armenian, but also promote completion of the Armenian’s identity, presentation of national problems to the international community and advancement of consolidated activities. Touching upon the Armenia-Diaspora relations, the RA NA President has noted that Armenia is powerful with its Diaspora, Nagorno Karabakh and is united in solving the problems concerning all the Armenians.

The RA NA President Galust Sahakyan kindly answered our compatriots’ questions. The questions concerning the Armenian communities of Russia, Ukraine, Iran, Sweden, Uruguay, Italy, Georgia referred to the deepening of Armenia-Diaspora cooperation, continuity of programmes concerning the Diaspora Armenians, events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide and the foreign policy pursued by the RA.

Touching upon the issue of emigration, the RA NA President has noted that the newly independent Armenia has the powerful potential to consolidate all the Armenians, and in case of developing the economy, emigration will essentially reduce. Referring to the achievements in the educational sphere, Galust Sahakyan talked about the upcoming opening of Dilijan International School and the Armenian schoolchildren’s successes in international Olympiads.

The representative from Iranian Armenian community voiced a proposal to let the Diaspora Armenians take part in the upcoming parliamentarian elections.
