RA NA Speaker Galust Sahakyan Meets with the Representatives of the Armenian Community of Russia
1 / 7

On July 6 the official delegation headed by the RA NA Speaker Galust Sahakyan visited the Armenian Cathedral Complex in Moscow. The Armenian parliamentarians took a tour in the Cathedral Complex opened in September 2013.

Then in the Armenian Diocese of Russia and Nor Nakhijevan of the Armenian Apostolic Church the NA Speaker met with the diplomatic corps of the RA Embassy to the RF, the representatives of the RA state institutions accredited in the RF, as well as of the Armenian community organizations.

Addressing the attendees, the NA Speaker Galust Sahakyan, in particular, said: “I am very glad to be here in this wonderful spiritual centre and among you, and I would like to convey warm greetings from Armenia. We treat your activity with respect, as we feel your spiritual and human contacts with the Motherland, because we are confident that no matter where you are, every one of you is interested in Armenia, its success and problems; not only interested, but also ready to be the direct contributor to that success and the immediate participant in the resolution of problems. For the Motherland itself rejoices at its world spread sons’ achievements and is concerned with their problems, ready at the same time to contribute to their settlement.” In his word, the Holy Transfiguration Diocesan Cathedral and the Church Complex in Moscow as a material history, though not yet one year old, comprise in them our centuries-old spiritual history, and also testify to the ancient and deep roots that the Armenians have in the friendly country. “I am sure that with Armenia's joining the Eurasian United Economic Area, the level of bilateral relations will rise, and the integration processes will further deepen. I am also confident that my official visit to the Russian Federation will have its positive role in terms of the expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation, once again ascertaining the strategic partnership relations existing between the two countries,” noted the NA Speaker. By Galust Sahakyan’s conviction, the progressive development of those relations further intensifies the confidence in the fulfillment of more comprehensive programs and opportunities, and the Armenian community’s role and contribution to it are great. “It is not accidental that in Russia you are considered well-known, faithful, clever, creative, decent and full citizens of authority. I am convinced that with your adherence to traditions and laws, with the deep knowledge of both countries’ interests, under the high aegis of this wonderful spiritual house henceforth we will also continue taking part in creating the history of interstate relations between Armenia and Russia in a new way,” said the Head of the parliament.

“The prosperity of the Motherland is our common business, where everybody’s efforts and energy are always required. Combining of all this is an important factor for the provision of Armenia’s bright future. I am sure that the acknowledgment of common responsibility towards Armenia’s destiny will help us to further reveal the potential of our united Motherland and build more secure and more welfare Armenia, and more strengthen Armenia-Artsakh-Diaspora triangle. We can and must construct such Armenia, we are obliged and able to hold firmly that triangle, irrespective of our location,” noted Galust Sahakyan.

Highly assessing the official visit of the delegation headed by the NA Speaker, the RA Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the RF Oleg Yesayan and the Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Russia and New Nakhijevan Yezras Archbishop Nersisyan noted that it would not only give a new impetus to the inter-parliamentary relations, but it would strengthen and deepen the interstate relations.
