On July 4 at the initiative of the NA deputy Vahan Babayan and by the assistance of the USAID Support to the RA National Assembly Program a meeting was held with the representatives of a number of NGOs on health, social issues, protection of children’s rights and problems of people with disabilities.
Vahan Babayan has noted that the goal of the meeting is to listen to the problems existing in different spheres and voice the problems requiring legislative solution. He highlighted the parliament-civil society ties and assured that such meetings are going to be continuous.
The representatives of the NGOs touched upon the decentralization of power in the sphere of social services, orphanage graduates’ further destiny, problems of their custody and adoption, creation of convenient and accessible conditions for persons with disabilities, protection of their rights, financing of NGOs, and raised problems concerning various layers of the society and submitted proposals.
