On December 17 the sitting of the NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations moderated by Artak Zakaryan was held, where the deputies debated the agreement “On Amending the Agreement on the Settlement of the Legal Issues with the NATO in relation to the Participation of the Sub-Unit of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia in the International Security Support Forces in Afghanistan Signed by Exchanging Letters on October 19, 2009 and October 20, 2009” signed by exchange of letters on November 8 and 22, 2012. The RA Deputy Defense Minister Ara Nazaryan said that the goal of the agreement was to extend the term of the location of the Armenian Military Group in the International Security Support Forces in Afghanistan until December 21, 2014.
According to the RA Ministry of Finance, by the agreement the RA does not assume financial obligations.
The Committee endorsed the debated agreement for including it in the agenda of the NA upcoming extraordinary session.
