Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the PRC to the RA Tian Changchun in the National Assembly

On July 18 the Vice President of the National Assembly Hermine Naghdalyan received the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Armenia Tian Changchun.

Welcoming a number of meetings held in the Armenian Parliament, the NA Vice President noted that she highly appreciated Tian Changchun’s efforts to deepen and strengthen the Armenian-Chinese relations, the effective cooperation in the most different spheres. In Hermine Naghdalyan’s word, the development of the relations is one of the priorities of Armenia’s foreign policy with the People’s Republic of China.

Congratulating Hermine Naghdalyan on being elected RA National Assembly Vice President Tian Changchun noticed that she was a proof and good example how a woman could reach high position in the politics. In the Ambassador’s word, China also highlights the women’s representation and active participation in the politics and contributing new and new efforts in that direction in other spheres. Tian Changchun expressed wish to activate the contacts between the women’s NGOs of the two countries, noting that in that issue he also expected Hermine Naghdalyan’s support. Highly assessing this idea the RA National Assembly Vice President, who at the same time was the Chairperson of the Women’s Board of the Republican Party of Armenia, conveyed invitation through the Ambassador the women having contribution in building China and holding public and political activity, to visit Armenia, discuss the directions of cooperation and joint effective work.

The interlocutors also touched upon the need of the rapprochement of the Armenian-Chinese ties in political, economic, cultural, scientific-educational and other spheres and realizing the big potential of deepening the relations. Hermine Naghdalyan has emphasized the circumstance that year by year the mutual visits of the high-ranking officials of the two countries become more frequent, and in parallel with relations at high level established between the executive bodies the inter-parliamentary and inter-party ties also dynamically develop. From the view of reaching beneficial results she distinguished the activity of the council of coordination of issues concerning the study of the Armenian-Chinese relations created in March 2011 and the cooperation between the two countries.

Talking about the cooperation in the sphere of education the sides confirmed that here too rather big opportunities of progress were noticed, the number of young people being interested in the education, Chinese culture, language in China day by day had increased in Armenia.

At the end of the meeting the interlocutors once again stressed their readiness to contribute more efforts to more develop the Armenian-Chinese relations and deepen them for the benefit of the two peoples’ welfare.
