NA Speaker Awards the Medal of Honour

On May 2 by the National Assembly Speaker’s order in solemn ceremony deputies were awarded the RA NA Medal of Honour for active and effective parliamentary activity.

The Head of the parliament has awarded Aram Safaryan, who leads the Armenian Delegation to the OSCE PA, and is the Co-Chair of the Inter-Parliamentary Committee on Cooperation between the RA National Assembly and RF Federal Assembly, also Areg Ghukasyan, who is the member of the Armenian Delegation in the PABSEC and at the same time the Vice President of the Assembly. Mr Nikoyan thanked the deputies for effectively implementing their functions and reaching favourable decisions for our country due to the consistent work in the international parliamentary structures.

The NA Speaker handed to the deputy Armen Mkhitaryan the RA NA Medal of Honour, which the latter received on the Army Day. In the word of the Head of the parliament the deputy being a participant of the Artsakh freedom fighting, also Chairman of the Veterans’ Union of the RA Afghanistan War, has big contribution in the defense of the Motherland.

Eduardo Lorenzo Ochoa, Long Term Policy Adviser for Strengthening Democratic Structures of the European Union Advisory Group to RA, also was given the NA Medal of Honour for implementing effective advisory mission. The Speaker of the National Assembly highly appreciated the latter’s mission both in the parliament and in the European structures in the joint work with the Armenian Delegation.

On behalf of those being awarded Aram Safaryan thanked for high assessment. He noted that, as a result of cooperation with their partner, they had succeeded to present the country in international parliamentary structures.

National Assembly Sitting Not Held
