On March 14 the RA National Assembly Speaker Samvel Nikoyan met the students of Yerevan State University, National Academy of Sciences and Yerevan Gladzor University. In the parliament they pass their educational practice.

In the NA Speaker’s words, the legislative body is the environment, where the students can have contacts with people of the most different specialties, including the best lawyers, economists and political scientists. Visiting the parliament the students have opportunity to distinctly have a picture and appreciate the activity of the National Assembly. The NA Speaker has deemed this important in the context that mainly the press forms an opinion in the society, and often a biased one. The NA Speaker talked with the youth about anti-campaign and inadmissibility of self-destruction revelations, instead considering useful the healthy criticism. As spheres, which have become target, the Head of the Parliament has noted the Armenian Army and the Armenian Apostolic Church, when in the first case an attempt is made to shatter the main pillar of the national security and in the second case - the important basis of self-preservation and value of systems. Mr Nikoyan considered concerning and dangerous for the state, when they criticize everything, not leaving a place for faith. “You are young, you are just entering into life. Live with pride that you are Armenian, you are sons of the bearers of the old gene and the people creating civilization,” he urged the young people.

Presenting the activity of the legislative body the NA Speaker has noted that the Parliament fully carries out the authorities and obligations predetermined by the Constitution, also keeps the mechanisms of checks and balances among the three wings of power.

During the talk with the NA Speaker the students touched upon different political, public and economic issues. At the young people’s Mr Nikoyan spoke about the problem of majoritarian-proportional electoral systems, saying that the functioning correlation is the most effective one. Introducing the goals of creation of the Youth Parliament, the NA Speaker characterized it as a good school of preparing young figures, considered useful the young people’s advisory voice while making decisions. The students also addressed questions to the Head of the Parliament about the expediency of investing recall mechanisms. According to Mr Nikoyan, we should be abstained from such mechanisms, as they can become an instrument of persecution for political views in the authorities’ hands. The deputies’ inviolability is also guaranteed by Constitution with this logic

At the end of the meeting the NA Speaker has deemed instructive for both sides the meetings in this dimension, noting that he sees in every interpellation the view of the new generation coming for replacement tomorrow.
