On September 15, the Head of the RA NA Armenia-Uzbekistan Friendship Group Shirak Torosyan, members of the Friendship Group Aleksey Sandikov and Aleksandr Avetisyan met in remote format with the members of Uzbekistan-Armenia Friendship Group Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Welcoming his Uzbek colleagues, Shirak Torosyan noted that their meeting is taking place during a symbolic period - the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
He underscored that Armenia is ready for joint work, which will be aimed at the consistent development of the relations between the two countries, based on mutual respect and the interests of the parties.
In the context of bilateral relations, the cooperation within the framework of parliamentary, as well as international parliamentary structures, was emphasized.
Regarding the Crossroads of Peace project, Alexey Sandikov noted that it will open up broad opportunities for a significant expansion of the logistical potential of the South Caucasus, based on full respect for the sovereignty and legal equality of states, as well as the principles of equality and reciprocity.
Aleksandr Avetisyan touched upon the trade and cultural ties between the Armenian and Uzbek peoples, and highlighted the importance of developing relations in the spheres of agriculture, science and technology, as well as education.
The deputies of the Oliy Majlis also attached importance to bilateral cooperation and expressed their readiness to jointly work.
