1 / 2

On September 9, at the RA NA sitting the issue of electing member of the RA Public Services Regulatory Commission was debated.

The RA NA Armenia and With Honor factions nominated Ara Nranyan for the position of member of the RA Public Services Regulatory Commission as one agreed upon joint candidate.

The deputy Artsvik Minasyan briefly presented the candidate’s biography and the work activities.

The candidate for the member of the RA Public Services Regulatory Commission Ara Nranyan thanked the parliamentary opposition factions for nominating his candidacy.

Having relevant work experience in the Commission, Ara Nranyan in his speech touched upon the spheres and works that are within his coordination domain. These are: issues related to renewable energy, the work carried out within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union and ensuring the participation of the Commission, the legal regulations regarding the consumer-supplier relations, as well as work referring to applications and complaints submitted to the Commission. Touching upon the steps aimed at the further development of renewable energy and the existing problems, the candidate emphasized that the solution of the problems requires the joint and complementary work of all bodies and structures. He spoke in detail about the lack of technical regulation of the work of solar power plants, ensuring the prospects for the development of solar energy, steps aimed at increasing energy security, the development of energy-intensive industries, tariff policy, and management of panel waste.

“The state and the economy must operate within the logic of international territorial and infrastructural development, where solutions to problems related to the companies regulating this system will also find their place,” Ara Nranyan noted.

The rapporteur also touched upon the study of the application-complaints being submitted to the Commission, noting that in 2024, 4068 applications were received, during the first half of the year 2025 – already 1363 applications.

At the last sitting, in accordance with the constitutional law the NA Rules of Procedure, the deputies made announcements.
