Relations between tax and customs authorities regarding the use of physical force, special means, and weapons by public servants to be regulated
1 / 2

The relations regarding the use of physical force, special means, and weapons by public servants of tax and customs bodies will be regulated by the legislative initiative.

On September 8, the parliament debated in the first reading the package of draft laws on Amending the law on Tax Service and on Amending the law on Customs Service.

The necessity for a legislative initiative is due to the fact that the Law On Regulation of Arms Circulation has been in effect since June 1, 2023. The proposed amendments intend to bring the provisions of the laws On Tax Service and On Customs Service into line with the provisions of the Law On Regulation of Arms Circulation.

The Deputy Chairman of the RA State Revenue Committee Hamlet Sahakyan presented the proposed amendments in detail. It was noted that the armament of the committee may include the appropriate types of weapons provided for by the Law On Regulation of Arms Circulation. The types of weapons included in the armament of the committee, according to the structural subdivisions, positions and service responsibilities of the committee, are defined by order of the head of the tax authority.

The member of the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Hayk Tsirunyan presented the endorsement of the Committee on the draft.
