Within the framework of the First Global Conference of Women Parliamentarians of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the deputy Tatevik Gasparyan met with the members of Parliament of the Republic of Peru Nieves Esmeralda Limachi and Rosio Torres.
Tatevik Gasparyan noted the interest of Armenia in developing relations with Peru and stated that its evidence is the visit of the President of Armenia to Peru in early March, for the first time in the history of relations between the two countries. The MP informed that the creation of the Friendship Group with the legislative body of Peru is at the stage of formation in the National Assembly of Armenia. She expressed hope that a similar group will also be formed in the Parliament of Peru, which will serve as an additional incentive for the establishment of effective inter-parliamentary cooperation.
The Peruvian MPs also spoke about perspectives of creating a Friendship Group in the Parliament of their country. Rosio Torres noted that there is unrealized great potential for developing the trade-economic relations. The sides agreed to organize meeting in distant format for discussing the possibilities of the cooperation development in the mentioned spheres and for specifying the further steps.
