Within the framework of the First Global Conference of Women Parliamentarians of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), MP Tatevik Gasparyan met with the Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Senate of Mexico Alejandro Murat Hinojosa on March 14.
Tatevik Gasparyan reaffirmed Armenia's interest in deepening cooperation with Mexico in various fields. In this context, the MP emphasized Armenia’s participation in the important international Conference in Mexico and the working visit of the NA Vice President Hakob Arshakyan in October 2024 to participate in the inauguration of President Claudia Sheinbaum.
Both sides highlighted the importance of further development of inter-parliamentary cooperation on the bilateral agenda. The Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Senate Alejandro Murat Hinojosa expressed his readiness to develop further cooperation with the legislative body of Armenia.
Issues regarding the development of trade, economic and scientific-educational cooperation were discussed. An agreement was reached to start work discussions to outline specific areas of cooperation between Armenia and Mexico and to clarify the work to be done. In this context, the possibility of starting direct flights was also discussed.
Regional and global issues were also discussed during the meeting. Tatevik Gasparyan presented to her Mexican counterpart the results of the ongoing negotiations on the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the latest developments.
