Based on the necessity to resolve issues arising in legal practice, it is proposed to make amendments and addenda to the RA Law on Preschool Education. They were presented by the Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the Republic of Armenia Araksia Svajyan at the regular sitting of the NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport on January 15.
The draft law proposes to clarify a number of regulations in the field of preschool education. “Over the past three years, work has been underway to introduce the standard of preschool education, and the standard of preschool education has already been introduced in more than 500 kindergartens. There is a need to make some amendments,” the Deputy Minister said.
It is proposed to introduce the notion of ‘mentor kindergarten’ into the law.
Another proposal concerns the requirement for kindergarten directors. According to the current regulation, they must have pedagogical experience. It is proposed to establish a pedagogical or requirement of scientific and pedagogical experience.
The Committee endorsed the draft debated in the first reading.
It is planned to debate it during the upcoming regular sittings of the National Assembly.
