On December 11, the Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs Vladimir Vardanyan met with the member of the Cyprus Delegation to the PACE Constantinos Efstathiou.
The Chair of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Sargis Khandanyan, the member of the Committee Maria Karapetyan and the Deputy Chair of the Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs Arusyak Julhakyan participated in the meeting.
Welcoming Constantinos Efstathiou in the National Assembly, Vladimir Vardanyan thanked him for active participation to the work of the Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) held in Yerevan.
“We highlight the execution of the judgments of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), which is our commitment in fulfilling international obligations assumed by Armenia,” Vladimir Vardanyan said.
Thanking for warm reception, Constantinos Efstathiou underscored that there is sincere mutual sympathy and respect between the peoples of the two countries. He highly appreciated the efforts undertaken by Armenia in the execution of the ECHR judgments.
During the discussion reference was made to the legislation of the legal field of the Republic of Armenia, the main issues of the execution of the ECHR judgments.
The participants highly appreciated the cooperation and the level of political dialogue between the parliaments of the two countries.
