At the sitting of December 3, the Parliament debated a number of draft laws in the second reading.
The bill on State Support for the High-Tech Sector and the package of the related bills were presented by the Minister of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia Mkhitar Hayrapetyan. According to him, from the first to the second reading, the Ministry received a number of proposals from the MPs and the colleagues of the technological community, a significant part of which were accepted.
The Deputy Chairman of the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia Ashot Muradyan presented the bill on Making Amendments and Addenda to the Tax Code of the Republic of Armenia and the package of the related bills.
It was noted that the date of entry into force of the amendments is proposed to be moved from January 1, 2025 to January 1, 2026.
The draft law on Making Amendments and Addenda to the Law on Remuneration of Persons Holding State Positions and State Service Positions proposes to pay an additional lump-sum holiday pay to a person holding a state position and a state service position once per calendar year during.
According to the Head of the Civil Service Bureau of the RA Prime Minister's Office Vache Kalashyan, technical amendments were made after the first reading.
According to the rapporteur, after the first reading, the initiative was revised and a number of approaches were reviewed. It was mentioned that the regulation on dismissal from office in the event of a negative performance assessment for one semester was reviewed by the Government.
The proposals of the MP Vardanyan were accepted.
According to the presentation of the Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan, the proposed amendment to the Law on Precious Metals was debated.
The adoption of the legislative package on making Amendments and Addenda to the Labor Code of the Republic of Armenia and on Amending the Law on Audiovisual Media is conditioned by the necessity to introduce a digital system for concluding employment contracts.
According to the Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ruben Sargsyan, after the first reading, mainly technical changes were made to the drafts.
