At October 31 extraordinary sitting of the NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security the package of draft laws on Making Addendum to the law on Military Service and Serviceman’s Status and on Making Addenda to the law on State Pensions authored by the deputies of the NA Civil Contract Faction Armen Khachatryan and Andranik Kocharyan was debated in the second reading and endorsed.

An opportunity will be created by the adoption of the package of drafts to return to service to servicemen on long service pension to return to service to servicemen on long service pension in the Armed Forces, to maintain their pension on one condition that they should pass their service in the military units, the list of which will approve the RA Minister of Defense.

Emphasizing the adoption of the legislative initiative, the Minister of Defense Suren Papikyan noted that the opportunity to replenish the armed forces with experienced personnel is essential.

The legislative package was endorsed.
