The NA Standing Committee on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs, represented by the Deputy Chair of the Committee Rustam Bakoyan, received a written application from the residents of Nor Kyank (New Life) settlement of Vedi enlarged community, in which they asked the Committee to solve the problem created in the settlements.
On October 30, the Deputy Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs Rustam Bakoyan, members of the Committee Marina Ghazaryan and Tigran Parsilyan visited Nor Kyank, Vosketap and Aygavan settlements of Vedi enlarged community
During the meeting the residents of the community informed the deputies that after the overhaul in 2023 the flow of the vehicles passing the H-8 highway of republican significance through Nor Kyank, Vosketap and Aygavan settlements increased, the traffic became dangerous. The drivers exceed the speed limit which results in accidents.
According to the Head of Vedi community Garik Sargsyan, road accidents happen frequently in this road section, there are cases of pedestrian collisions. The artificial unevennesses placed in the central parts of the settlements do not help either. According to the residents of the communities, the solution of the issue is the placement of speedometers at Nor Kyank, Vosketap and Aygavan community entrances.
The NA deputies and the participants have been in the respective parts of the highway and discussed the proposal.
The Deputy Chair of the Committee Rustam Bakoyan highlighted the ensuring of the residents’ safety and noted that works will be done with the relevant state bodies to solve the issue.
Within the framework of the visit the MPs also discussed problems regarding the agriculture with the participants of the meeting. They mainly related to the procurement of agricultural products, the need for soil laboratory diagnosis, having agronomist-specialists and irrigation water.
