Pursuant to Article 197.2.3 of the RA Constitution, as well as the Article 145 of the RA Constitutional law the Rules of Procedure, the Civil Contract Faction nominated Avet Poghosyan for a vacancy position. The issue was debated at October 17 sitting of the NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport.
The Committee Chair Sisak Gabrielyan presented the candidate’s biographical data and work activity.
Avet Poghosyan spoke about the structure, noting that the considerable part of the news is out of regulation part. He emphasized the issue of the legislative regulation of the sphere and noted that the legislative regulations should be more frequent in a small amount, stemming from practice. He mentioned that he is of principle in the freedom of speech, and as an independent member of the Commission will be objective, will maintain the political neutrality. “I am sure that as a result of my work, the freedom of speech will be in better state,” the candidate underlined. Avet Poghosyan also answered the MPs’ questions.
The Committee made a decision by voting to propose Avet Poghosyan’s candidacy to the National Assembly in the position of the member of the RA Commission on Television and Radio.
