On October 15, the RA NA President Alen Simonyan met with the Secretary General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union Martin Chungong. The sides discussed the details of the canceled meeting of the presidents of the parliaments of Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Martin Chungong informed that the Azerbaijani side does not consider the window of the contacts closed. In response to that, the RA NA President reacted that despite the fact that he had contacts with his Azerbaijani colleague for three days during the Parliamentary Conference held in the city of Dushanbe on the eve of the visit to Geneva, but the latter did not hint in any way at the cancelation of the meeting, and the Armenian side learnt about that only after arriving in Geneva from the Secretariat of the organization.

At the same time Alen Simonyan reaffirmed the readiness of the Armenian side to continue the dialogue preparing the parliaments and the societies of the two countries for the peace and taking concrete steps for its strengthening, which will be aimed at the formation of the mutual trust.
