On September 12, the 10th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians of the Inter-Parliamentary Union started in Yerevan.
The President of Inter-Parliamentary Union Tulia Ackson welcomed the participants of the Conference.
“I am deeply honoured to address you today at the 10th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians for the first time as IPU President in Yerevan, where ancient history and modern aspirations intertwine, we hold the 10th Conference. I wish to extend my sincere thanks to the National Assembly of Armenia for giving us such opportunity. Armenia is not only leading by its example on youth in parliament, but also by its hospitality and commitment fostering cooperation and dialogue between the young countries. Over the years, the Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians of the Inter-Parliamentary Union has become a unique platform for young parliamentarians to make one particular message loud and clear that there is no democracy without inclusion, and there is no inclusion without young men and women. Our full attention and collective wisdom and aspiration should be directed to overcome the challenges, conflicts, provide education, equality and employment,” Tulia Ackson said.
