On June 9, 2006, Armenia joined the Convention on the Contract for the International Carriage of Goods by Road (CMR). In 2008, the aforementioned Convention was supplemented by an additional Protocol, which entered into force in 2011. It allows the legal regulations described in the main convention to be carried out electronically. The Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia Armen Simonyan informed about this while presenting the draft law on Ratifying the Additional Protocol on the Electronic Waybill of the Convention on the Contract for the International Carriage of Goods by Road (CMR) at the NA sitting.
The key rapporteur noted that it is proposed to join the additional Protocol, to create the possibility of using electronic waybills for the RA cargo carriers in the future.
The member of the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Davit Arushanyan, presenting the endorsement of the Head Committee, called on his colleagues to vote for the initiative.
