The initiative proposes to establish an authorizing norm for the Government, by which the Executive will have the opportunity to establish privileges on the principle of reciprocity during transit from third countries through the territory of the Republic of Armenia, as well as during cargo transportation to the territory of the Republic of Armenia. The RA Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Armen Simonyan said this.
“We are talking about discounts or road tax exemption. At the moment, with interstate agreements with almost all EEU countries, we have exempted both sides from road and environmental tax payments,” the rapporteur underlined and added that we also have such an agreement with Georgia.
According to Armen Simonyan, the adoption of the draft will contribute to the establishment of appropriate conditions for cargo transportation with Iranian partners.
The debate on the amendments to the RA Tax Code in the first reading will continue at the NA sitting on September 10.
