The purpose of the draft is to create legislative bases, according to which, the person over 16 years of age will have right to receive information in an accessible way about his/her health condition, diagnosis, the provided medical aid and service. The deputy Zaruhi Batoyan said this during the regular sitting of the eighth session of the RA NA eighth convocation on September 9, presenting in the first reading the draft law on Making Addenda to the law on Medical Aid and Service to the Population.
According to regulation in force, the person over 16 years of age will have right to receive informed consent for medical intervention or on refusing it except the cases prescribed by law.
“The right to receive information is set by the Minister’s order, but some medical centres provide them, some medical centres refuse providing them. Stemming from the practical problems, it was necessary to fix this right also by law,” the author of the draft Zaruhi Batoyan clarified.
The member of the Standing Committee on Health Care Hrachya Hakobyan presented the endorsement on the draft by the Committee.
The RA Deputy Minister of Health Armen Gasparyan presented the endorsement of the Government.
