I believe that the efficiency of the public administration also depends on the right cooperation with the civil society,” the deputy of the RA NA Civil Contract Faction, the member of the NA Standing Committee on Labor and Social Affairs Mariam Poghosyan noted during the meeting with the representatives of the NGOs held on August 6.

Mariam Poghosyna presented the directions of cooperation of the NGOs with the National Assembly, listened to the problems raised by the participants of the meeting.

The representatives of the NGOs carrying out activity ion different spheres in Tavush, Lori, Vayots Dzor, Aragatsotn, Gegharkunik, Shirak, Armavir marzes/regions and in Yerevan spoke about the programmes being implemented by them, presented the needs and the concerns. Reference was made to the issues impeding the activity of the NGOs, the necessity of the legislative regulation of a number of problems was emphasized.

At the meeting issues regarding the creation of the community centres, providing areas for them, the change of the community budgets, the housing in border villages, the programmes providing support to the forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno Karabakh, as well as the signing of contracts rendering services.

The issue of the engagement of the youth in the public administration was highlighted. In that context, Mariam Poghosyan underlined the adoption of the RA law on Voluntary Work. She also mentioned that the employment strategy is being revised, and its aim is the regulation of the considerable challenges related to employment. AN agreement was reached to visit the marzes.

The participants thanked the deputy for the meeting. Mariam Poghosyan attached importance to such meetings, stated that she received useful information, also news about it is necessary to think about and undertake their implementation. The MP underscored that similar meetings will be continuous.
