The Executive proposes addenda and amendment to the Criminal Code. The RA Deputy Minister of Justice Levon Balyan presented the main regulations for debate at the extraordinary session of the National Assembly.

The convicts in need of long-term medical assistance, service and care in hospital conditions will be transferred to correctional hospitals , where they will be kept in cells designed for the strict conditions of the medium security zone. The specifics of the detention conditions will be defined by the internal regulations of the penitentiary institutions.

The penitentiary service will ensure the order and the conditions of execution of punishments in the medical penitentiary institutions, and the medical aid and service of the convicts will be carried out by the Penitentiary Medicine Center SNCO of the Ministry of Health .

An authorizing norm will be defined in the Code, which will enable the Minister of Justice to regulate in more detail the procedure and conditions for assessing the risks and needs of the convict.

Arpine Davoyan presented the endorsement of the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs. In order to debate health issues, during the period from the first to the second reading, she highlighted the participation of the Chair of the Standing Committee on Health Care Narek Zeynalyan in the debates of the Committee.
