Parliament debates Agreement on Military-Technical Cooperation between Armenia and Greece

The goal of the Agreement is to expand and deepen the military-technical cooperation process existing between the two countries: The RA Deputy Minister of Finance Arman Sargsyan informed at June 11 NA sitting, presenting for debate the draft law on Ratifying the Agreement on Military-Technical Cooperation between the RA Government and the Government of the Hellenic Republic.

The Agreement defines the directions of cooperation in the military-technical sphere, the training process of the necessary professionals and technical staff, the support to the organizations implementing activity in the sphere and the means of implementing cooperation.

The directions of cooperation will be the production of weapons and ammunitions, the transfer of technologies and the technical support, as well as the exchange of experience in the spheres of ammunition production, military researches and assessments, the establishment of joint organizations for production of military goods, the implementation of professional education training and qualification programmes in the sphere of military industry.

Arman Sargsyan noted that the Ministries of Defense of the two countries will be the parties’ authorized body to implement the provisions of the Agreement, a joint Commission on Military-Technical Cooperation will be created.

The member of the NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security Vilen Gabrielyan presented the endorsement of the Committees.
